GOLDEN ACORN AWARDS 2019-2020

Each year, the Washington State PTSA offers three unique awards to recognize individuals who make significant contributions that enhance the education of children.  

Outstanding Educator Award- Presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding educational contributions. Nominees for this award are generally teachers, including the specialist staff (music, P.E., library, reading, Jaguar Club, Sage, Speech and other OT staff).

Outstanding Advocate Award - Honors an individual who promotes the health, welfare, safety and education of all children in the home, school and community. Volunteers who speak up for students or who try to change things for the benefit of children at a school, district, state of even national level are considered advocates. Nominees for this award could be a general or specialist teachers, an assistant, administrator, other school or district staff or a PTSA member.

Golden Acorn Award - Awarded to those people who have given exemplary volunteer service to children and youth in our community. The Golden Acorn is given for continued and dedicated service. Nominees for this award include volunteers that meet the mission of the PTSA: "To promote the health, welfare, safety and education of all children and youth in the home, school and community".
