Your PTSA Advocacy Representative

The Endeavour Elementary PTSA Advocacy Chair is responsible for keeping the Endeavour community updated on current legislative issues that affect our school, district, state and sometimes nation, as well as getting people involved in advocating for education.

The Advocacy chair typically attends the State PTA Legislative Assembly in the Fall of each school year. The Legislative Assembly is a gathering of PTA advocates from around the state who debate and decide which issues the State PTA will focus its lobbying efforts on during the State Legislative session.

In addition, the Advocacy chair attends - hopefully with support from other Endeavour parents and the community - Focus Day to advance the cause of children and education funding during the Washington State Legislative Session in Olympia.

Your PTSA Advocacy representative is Taya Montgomery. Please contact Taya at advocacy@endeavourptsa.org with any your advocacy concerns, questions or to get involved.

Legislative Platform

The Washington State PTA legislative platform is a two-year platform to mirror the Washington state legislative cycle. On the even-numbered years, the new platform is voted on by members at the legislative assembly in the fall. The top five issues become our short-term platform and consist of our priority issues when advocating throughout the year. Other issues are placed on an “also supported” list. During the odd-numbered years, members vote to amend current issues or to add new, emerging issues to the also supported list.
