ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING A ROOM PARENT?

WHAT WOULD MY RESPONSIBILITIES BE???

Room Parents are the liaisons between teachers and families. It is a rewarding job that lets you improve the experience of your child and their classmates. Some teachers may want a lot of help (or very little); asking your teachers or talking to your PSTA Room Parent Coordinator are good ways to learn what's expected of you as a Room Parent. But all Room Parents share some things in common: a desire to pitch in, great organizational and communication skills, and the time, energy, and enthusiasm for helping out in a hands-on way. With the pandemic, responsibilities are a bit limited this year, but here are some things you may be asked to do:
- Communicate with all of the parents (emailing, texting, and sometimes calling)
- Meet with your teacher at the beginning of the year to find out their needs and wishes
- Plan and organize class events/parties
- Recruit other parent volunteers
- Solicit and collect supply donations
- Organize appreciations and gifts
- Share your knowledge and experience with other incoming room parents

IMPORTANT NOTES???

As a Room Parent, you don't have to do it all! Know that many classes have two Room Parents to share the responsibilities. You will have the support of other room parents and your PSTA Room Parent Coordinator. Other parents in the class are also eager to help. Being a room parent is fun and a great way to make lasting friendships with other Endeavour Families!
