The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Washington State PTA cultural arts competition, providing students an opportunity to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. Dear Parents of Students who participated in Reflections,
Thank you for encouraging the students to participate in the Reflections national competition!
A big shoutout to all the PTSA board members(Shannon Mayo, Ashlee Brennecke, Christa Bowles, Krista Guenser, Joanna Moore, David Keith) for all their support. Thanks to our volunteers Mugil Kalaivanan, Maria Kosmatos Cable, Caitlin Nungesser for helping when it was needed the most! Also, a big thanks to our previous chairs ,Tabitha Gilscarbo and Melinda Flores for their time, effort and unconditional support. Not to forget our judges without whose support, the goals would never have been achieved.

2022-23 Reflections Program: Show Your Voice
The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Washington State PTA cultural arts competition, providing students an opportunity to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.
The theme for the 2022-2023 school year is Show Your Voice.
Submission deadline will be Thursday, November 3, 2022.
Program Details
A student may submit an entry in any of six artistic categories:
Works of fiction and nonfiction in: poetry, prose, drama, short stories, essay, screen play, play script, narrative, and lyrics. |
Original musical composition, with or without words. Student may also be the performer, or one of the performers.

Originally choreographed solo and ensemble works of all dance styles. Student may also be the performer, or one of the performers. |
Original works, with or without sound, in: animation, narrative, documentary, experimental, or media.

Drawing, painting in various mediums, computer-generated art, two-dimensional collage, printmaking, needlework & leather tooling, architectural drawing, ceramics, fashion drawing or clothing, fiber work, mixed media, and sculpture. |
Color or black/white single print (no collages) image in: photogram, negative sandwich, and multiple exposure. |
Entries are judged on creative ability and interpretation of the theme. The special artist division is a non-graded division limited to students whose physical, cognitive or mental health challenges meet the guidelines set forth in the American Disabilities Act. Qualifying students entering this division create their own artwork but may receive non-artistic accommodation and assistance from an adult. At the national level, one Special Artist from across all arts categories will be selected to receive an Outstanding Interpretation Award. Up to five additional Special Artists may be selected to receive national Awards of Excellence. Find out more here.

Please note: This year, all artworks will be submitted and judged online at the district, state and national level along with the submission of actual artwork at school level. Any changes to the school -level submission will be updated on this page if needed.
Only original works of art are accepted. Please follow the dimension requirements and artwork submission guidelines for each art area listed here: Reflections-Submission-Checklist.pdf.
e.g. Visual artwork must not exceed ½ inch in thickness, literature entries must not exceed 2,000 words.
